Hypnobirthing in Cornwall

Calm and confident prep for pregnancy, birth and beyond, led by a doula, hypnobirthing practitioner, and yoga teacher.

Private and small group hypnobirthing courses, helping you feel informed, held and grounded as you approach birth.

What actually is hypnobirthing?

When people hear the word hypnobirthing, they often imagine something a bit fluffy or surface-level. In reality, it’s far more grounded, practical and useful than the name suggests.

Hypnobirthing is a practical, evidence-based approach to birth preparation that combines antenatal education, relaxation techniques, practical tools and mindset work. It helps you understand how birth works, and how to support your body and mind as you prepare for labour. It helps you work with the fears and expectations we can carry around birth, while building confidence and calm so you feel more able to navigate your experience in whatever way it unfolds.

This isn’t about achieving a ‘perfect’ birth, and it isn’t limited to one type of birth. It can support you in any setting or birth experience. It’s about feeling informed, prepared, and able to make decisions that feel right for you.

Despite the name, it isn’t woo-woo. It’s about understanding the physiology of birth, working with your body rather than against it, and learning tools that help you stay grounded throughout pregnancy and labour. At its heart, hypnobirthing is about helping you feel more connected, confident, and able to trust yourself and your body.

What we’ll cover together

Over four sessions, we explore both the practical, mental, and emotional side of preparing for birth. I completely tailor your learning experience to you and your partner, so expect attentive and enjoyable learning that makes you feel empowered.

My hypnobirthing courses include:

  • breathing and relaxation techniques

  • comfort measures and managing contractions

  • birth physiology and how the body works during labour

  • hormones and the role they play in birth, feeding, and bonding

  • partner support tools and building a hypnobirthing toolkit

  • understanding interventions and informed decision making

  • supportive preparation for different birth paths, including assisted delivery, induction and caesarean births

  • normal newborn behaviour and the early days of feeding

  • postpartum preparation and recovery

Whether you’re planning a home birth, hospital birth, or caesarean, hypnobirthing offers tools and support that help you feel more steady within the experience.

My Approach

I share information calmly and without judgement, creating space for questions, reflection, and learning that feels supportive rather than overwhelming.

As a mother of twins, doula, yoga teacher and hypnobirthing practitioner, I bring both lived experience, empathy, and professional training into my work. My approach is gentle, grounded, and centred around helping you feel held through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.

This antenatal and hypnobirthing course isn’t just dull powerpoint slides. I use a mix of discussion, visual learning, games, practical activities, relaxation techniques and space for questions and chats about your unique pregnancy and birth, so sessions feel interactive, calm and relevant to you.

Everything is tailored to your pregnancy, your learning style and your circumstances. No two families are the same, and I don’t think birth preparation should be either.
