Postnatal Doula Support in Cornwall

Gentle, practical support for finding your feet in the early days, weeks or months of parenthood.

The chapter after birth can be beautiful, emotional, exhausting, overwhelming + transformational. My role is to help you feel steady, cared for + held as you nurture your baby.

We spend so much time preparing for birth, yet most of us are surprised by what happens next + how alone we can feel.

Whether you're recovering from birth, navigating feeding your baby, adjusting to a new identity, or simply trying to find time to eat lunch + drink a hot cup of tea, you don't have to do it alone + postnatal doula care can make a huge difference to parenthood.

My role is to walk alongside you during this transition + my postnatal doula support offers practical help, emotional support, a listening ear + continuity of care during one of life's biggest transitions. I keep you steady + provide a calm, reassuring presence as well as skilled feeding support.

What is a postnatal doula?

A postnatal doula is there to support you + your partner, as well as your new baby. I’m not there to tell you what to do, but I’ll build your confidence + remind you that you are the best parent for your baby. I’m there to hold you + your partner steady as you navigate becoming parents.

When I arrive for each session, your nervous system breathes a sigh of relief, I’m here to make your day easeful + to meet you just as you are.

I don't replace healthcare professionals, family or friends. Instead, I offer empathy, non-judgemental support, calming care, practical help around the home, + a grounding + steady presence as you settle into the wild wide of parenthood.

My support is led by what will fill your cup.

What does a postnatal doula visit look like?

Every baby + every family is different, + so is each visit.

Perhaps you've had a wakeful night, so when I arrive, I quietly unload the dishwasher, put a load of washing on + make us both a cup of tea whilst the house is quiet. We settle on the sofa + chat about how things have been feeling: feeding, sleep, your recovery + all the emotions that can come with life with a new baby.

Maybe you'd like some practical feeding support, or perhaps you simply need space to talk + be listened to. Some days you might head back to bed while I pop your baby in the sling + prepare some lunch + pop your dinner in the slow cooker. Other days, we might venture out together for a walk, a baby group, or that first trip to a coffee shop that suddenly feels much further away than it used to.

My role isn't to take over or tell you what to do. It's to support you in the way that feels most helpful on that day - offering practical help, emotional support, reassurance, evidence-based information, + a calm presence as you find your feet in parenthood.

You don't need to tidy up for me, apologise for not getting out of bed when you’re shattered, have all the answers, or know exactly what support you'll need. We'll figure that out. Day by day

Ways I Will Support You

Why Work With Me?

I bring together my lived experience as a mother of twins, doula + infant feeding peer support to provide calm, personalised support during the wild weeks of early parenthood. I always respond to the family in front of me, adapting support to your needs, your circumstances + your hopes for this season.

One of my superpowers is being able to make others feel calm, cared for, heard + this can make a big difference when you’re running on zero sleep with a newborn.

People remember how they felt during the early days of having a new baby. I will get to know you, understand what makes you tick, + will leave you feeling confident + cared for after each of my postnatal visits. We will meet before I have your baby, so that you have a chance to get to know me + together we’ll work on a framework of support for when your baby arrives.

Whether you need practical help, feeding support, high fives + being told how bloody great you’re doing + someone to make you a cup of tea (+ make sure you get to drink it!). While you hold your baby, I am here to create that space for you.

Nighttime Postnatal Support Options

The Evening Hours

Calm support when the day is winding down.

Evenings can be a particularly intense part of those early weeks (the witching hour is upon us!) because everyone is tired, the baby may be unsettled + there can be very little time left for you to eat, shower or simply catch your breath. We couldn’t put our twins down for a long time, so I have lived this.

Evening postnatal support gives you a little more space at the end of the day. I can support with newborn care, feeding, preparing food + drinks, settling baby, or simply being there while you have a chance to rest. You may be balancing your baby with older children or toddlers, I can help you balance this.

We'll focus on whatever would make the evening feel a little easier for you + your family.

Sessions are a minimum of 3 hours.
Investment: £40 per hour

The Held Night

Overnight postnatal doula support, so you can rest + replenish.

Those first nights with a newborn can feel long, because they are long. The broken sleep, frequent feeds + constant need to be on can make recovery feel even harder. Things like a partner going back to work, other children + layered with weeks of sleep deprivation, it can feel hard to catch your breath.

The Held Night offers calm, practical support through the night, giving you the opportunity to rest while I care for you + your baby.

Depending on what you need, I can support with settling, nappy changes, feeding support, newborn care, preparing drinks + snacks, helping you get comfortable + being a reassuring presence through those wakeful hours. Sometimes just someone else being there can make it less lonely.

This isn't about taking over or taking your baby away from you.
It's about giving you the support you need to get some rest, recover + feel a little more held through the night.

9pm-7am
Investment: £395

*both these evening + night options are available any day of the week (including weekends).
